Uzbekistan and Georgia strengthen trade and economic cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 21 to 25 February, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Dilshod Rasulov is on a working visit to Georgia.

The first day of the trip was marked by a meeting with the President of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Giorgi Pertaia, during which the parties discussed prospects for strengthening trade, economic, and investment ties between the two countries.

Particular attention was given to increasing mutual trade volumes, expanding business partnerships between Uzbek and Georgian entrepreneurs, and implementing joint projects.

As a result of the negotiations, several key agreements were reached. In particular, a delegation of Georgian businesses, led by the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will visit Uzbekistan in May.

In June, Uzbek entrepreneurs will travel to Georgia, where exhibitions titled Made in Georgia and Made in Uzbekistan will be held as part of their visit.

Additionally, the parties agreed to establish Uzbek trade houses in Tbilisi and Batumi and to organize meetings between Georgian companies and representatives of Uzbek businesses and industry associations in the fields of textiles, construction materials, leather and footwear manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals.

The implementation of these agreements will elevate Uzbek-Georgian trade and economic cooperation to a new level.
