Uzbekistan and France strengthen cultural ties with the signing of key agreements.
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Paris, a series of important agreements were signed between Uzbekistan’s Art and Culture Development Foundation and the French Ministry of Culture. The signing ceremony took place with the participation of the Chair of the Foundation, Gayane Umerova, and France’s Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati.
One of the key documents was a declaration of cooperation between the cultural institutions of both countries. Under this agreement, the parties committed to fostering academic exchanges between the Alfred Cortot Paris Music School and the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. This initiative opens new opportunities for students and faculty from both nations, promoting knowledge exchange and strengthening cultural ties.
Additionally, the agreement includes support for joint film projects, enabling filmmakers from Uzbekistan and France to create unique works that merge the traditions and contemporary trends of both cultures.
Special attention has been given to the promotion of Uzbek art abroad. As part of this collaboration, the exhibition Uzbekistan: Avant-Garde in the Desert is set to be held in France. The exhibition will showcase Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage, its history, and contemporary art, serving as a significant step in enhancing cultural dialogue between the two countries.
Another major initiative will be an international conference on museums and artificial intelligence in Samarkand. This event, held within the framework of the 43rd session of UNESCO’s General Conference, will bring together experts from around the world to discuss the role of technology in preserving and promoting cultural heritage.
The signed agreements underscore the commitment of Uzbekistan and France to deepening cultural cooperation and creating new opportunities for artistic collaboration. These initiatives not only strengthen bilateral relations but also contribute to the enrichment of global culture.
