Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the Ministries of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Arab Republic of Egypt, the 1st meeting of the Joint Working Group in the field of agriculture was organized via videoconferencing.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Turaev and Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture and Melioration of Egypt Saad Nasar.

During the dialogue, issues of increasing mutual trade in agricultural products, the development of veterinary medicine, animal husbandry and fisheries, plant protection, cotton seed production, as well as cooperation in the fields of agricultural science and education were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, Alisher Turaev noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Egypt are developing dynamically in the spirit of close partnership. He expressed hope that this meeting of the working group would serve as an effective tool for developing bilateral partnership.
