Uzbekistan and Egypt discuss opportunities to expand cooperation in 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a phone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel Ati, to discuss plans for strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations in 2025, focusing on leveraging opportunities for collaboration.

Bakhtiyor Saidov emphasized Uzbekistan’s high regard for Egypt’s efforts in promoting regional stability.

According to Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the conversation covered the current state of bilateral relations between the two nations.

Minister Abdel Ati highlighted Egypt’s commitment to enhancing political and economic ties with Uzbekistan by developing existing cooperation mechanisms and encouraging collaboration between the national economic institutions of both countries.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of building upon the outcomes of the Seventh Joint Egyptian-Uzbek Commission on Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, held in December 2024 in Tashkent under the chairmanship of the Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation. This meeting laid the groundwork for boosting investments, mutual trade, and collaboration between the private sectors of the two nations, including the creation of a Business Council aimed at exploring new avenues for joint ventures.

Additionally, Minister Abdel Ati expressed Egypt’s gratitude for Uzbekistan’s solidarity and support for the Palestinian people, emphasizing Uzbekistan’s commitment to Palestine’s right to establish an independent state in line with relevant UN resolutions.
