Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 September in Samarkand, during the 9th Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank’s Board of Governors, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, met with the Chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank (EADB), Nikolai Podguzov.

The meeting focused on the prospects for further deepening cooperation between the parties.

Nikolai Podguzov emphasized that Uzbekistan remains a key partner for the EADB in the region and announced plans to include several large countries as shareholders in the bank in the near future.

An agreement was reached to launch a number of joint projects totaling US$3.3 billion, including five non-sovereign projects expected to be implemented this year.

Additionally, by the end of the year, a country office of the EADB is planned to open in Tashkent, which will facilitate better interaction and expedite funding for priority projects.
