Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An intergovernmental agreement on the development of cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources was signed between the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and the State Energy Administration of China.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the third international forum “One Belt, One Road” in Beijing. Among many important issues, bilateral meetings are held on the development of the energy sector.
In particular, an Intergovernmental Agreement on the development of cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources was signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State Energy Administration of the People’s Republic of China.
This agreement, taking into account the Joint Statement of the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Uzbekistan from 15 September 2022, will further strengthen cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources in order to ensure energy security in the country, stimulate the transition to green and low-carbon energy and achieve carbon neutrality.
It was noted that the purpose of this agreement is to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of effective use of renewable energy sources and to constantly enrich Chinese-Uzbek energy cooperation with new content.
As part of the agreement, the parties agreed to accelerate the transition to “green development”, build and modernize components of power transmission networks of renewable energy sources, develop the scientific and technical base in the field of renewable energy sources and conduct joint research, including in the development of solar and wind energy, and the introduction of energy-saving technologies and systems.
