Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- On 26 July, a meeting with a delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China headed by Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of China Lu Min was held at the Ministry of Innovation Development. The meeting was received by the Minister of Innovation Development Ibrohim Abdurahmonov.

In April 2019, within the framework of the participation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the second International Forum “One Belt, One Road”, the Minister of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibrohim Abdurahmonov made a presentation and voiced such proposals as the exchange of scientists, specialists and researchers to participate in the implementation of joint projects, launching joint science and technology projects, creating joint laboratories to consolidate and direct joint research efforts, and the achievement of significant results in scientific activities. This meeting was a logical continuation of the forum.

The Minister dwelled on the issue of internships by Uzbek young scientists at leading higher educational and research institutions in China and noted that this is a pressing issue during the period of dynamic development of economic relations with China. Mr. Lu Min fully supported the Minister and stressed that the scientific institutions of China are always open to Uzbeks.

Abdurahmonov spoke about the grant system as one of the main activities of the ministry and noted that the ministry was authorized to introduce innovations in public administration and the real economy. The parties also agreed on the creation of joint research laboratories and technology parks. In this regard, the possibility of attracting companies applying high technology to the activities of laboratories and technology parks was discussed. The members of the Chinese delegation also expressed their thoughts on the need to develop the transfer of scientific and technological achievements at the interstate level.

The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere. The parties agreed to consolidate close cooperation in the near future.
