Uzbekistan and China Strengthen Transport Partnership: UTK Logistics Launched in Ürümqi

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 July, a grand opening ceremony was held in Beijing for UTK International Logistics Co. Ltd, a joint venture established as part of the strategic partnership between JSC "Uztemiryulcontainer" and the Chinese company Xinjiang Union of Railway International Logistics Co. Ltd.

The event was attended by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov, Deputy Mayor of Ürümqi People’s Government Hou Yong, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Uzbekistan Temir Yullari" Zufar Narzullaev, head of JSC "Uztemiryulcontainer" Mirziyod Mirkhamidov, as well as representatives of the business community and official institutions from both countries.

The new company will be headquartered in Ürümqi, the administrative center of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. Its core activities will include consolidating cargo for dispatch along the "China – Central Asia" route, attracting subsidies from the Chinese side, and developing multimodal transportation using advanced logistics solutions.

The establishment of UTK International Logistics Co. Ltd marks a new stage in the development of transport and logistics cooperation between Uzbekistan and China. It also opens up new opportunities to strengthen transit potential and expand foreign economic ties.
