Uzbekistan and China Strengthen Cooperation on Justice and Human Rights
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Tashkent between Sherzod Rabiev, Deputy Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan, and a delegation led by Xiang Xiango, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Deputy Chairman of the China Society for Human Rights Studies.
During the talks, Sherzod Rabiev highlighted the steady development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China and briefed the guests on the extensive reforms being implemented in the country.
Particular attention was given to the improvement of the justice and legal system, the protection of human rights, the development of legal education, public legal awareness, and the safeguarding of citizens’ lawful interests.
Xiang Xiango expressed gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized that ensuring human rights and freedoms is a priority for both China and Uzbekistan.
The guests were provided with information on the new Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, national legislative norms in the field of human rights, as well as the activities of the Ministry of Justice.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chinese delegation expressed appreciation for the materials provided and noted that the visit would serve as a foundation for further strengthening friendly ties and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
