Uzbekistan and China Expand Cooperation in Infrastructure, Energy, and Tourism
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 31 July, in Tianjin (PRC), Ilzat Kasimov, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, held talks with executives of leading Chinese companies to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in infrastructure, energy, transport, and tourism.
At a meeting with the leadership of Sinoma Energy Conservation, the parties discussed projects including gypsum exploration, the establishment of wind turbine production in the Jizzakh region, the creation of an innovative energy technopark, and the signing of a Memorandum of Strategic Partnership.
Tianjin Urban Construction Group Holdings expressed readiness to participate in the construction of bridges and highways in Uzbekistan, the development of metro and LRT systems, the creation of drainage infrastructure, as well as the exchange of expertise and joint work on infrastructure technoparks and engineering centers.
Representatives of Tianjin Rail Transit Group Corporation showcased advanced metro solutions, including automation and traffic management systems, as well as staff training programs. The delegation was introduced to the company’s technology center and its transport management system.
ST Wonderful International confirmed plans to build the five-star “Beijing” Hotel in Tashkent and implement a major family recreation amusement park project.
Following the meetings, the parties agreed to launch preparatory activities and continue the dialogue. The Uzbek side confirmed its readiness for long-term cooperation with Chinese partners in key areas.
