Uzbekistan and China discussed cooperation on green raw materials
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The first meeting of the working group on "green" minerals was held with the participation of delegations from the Ministry of Mining and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to expand cooperation in the production of technological metals — strategically important raw materials for key sectors of the "green" economy, including renewable energy, electric vehicle manufacturing, and high-tech industries.
Representatives from the Uzbek Technological Metals Plant (Uzbekkombinat) also presented their initiatives, showcasing ongoing investment projects. Special attention was given to initiatives aimed at forming multi-stage value chains — from raw material extraction to the production of finished goods. These projects are part of the Program for the Development of Critical Minerals for 2025–2026.
The parties also agreed to jointly develop mutually beneficial proposals for financing these projects in the shortest possible time.
Among the initiatives presented were innovative solutions for the processing of technogenic waste, the production of high-tech products with high added value, and the transfer of advanced technologies.
