Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Ibrahim Abdurakhmanov held a meeting with a delegation led by the Minister of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Huai Jinpeng.

During the meeting, the prospects of bilateral cooperation in agriculture, food security, and scientific fields were discussed. They also reviewed preparations for the 9th Annual Silk Road Alliance Conference, scheduled to take place soon in Tashkent.

Both sides exchanged views on current and future agricultural projects, emphasizing that relations between Uzbekistan and China are built on mutual trust and actively developing.

It was noted that the number of phytosanitary permits for the export of agricultural products from Uzbekistan to China has increased to 22. Chinese specialists have been involved in implementing advanced practices in cotton farming. Discussions also covered Uzbekistan-China cooperation in science and innovation, particularly a project on seed exchange in cotton farming.

Both parties highlighted that such projects contribute to strengthening Uzbek-Chinese relations and agreed to implement new initiatives in the future.

After the meeting, the guests participated in the opening ceremony of a joint educational faculty with the Northwest A&F University of China at the Tashkent State Agrarian University.

The event discussed details of the joint educational program organized in cooperation between Uzbek and Chinese universities. The importance of integrating advanced Chinese practices into Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector and training qualified personnel was emphasized.

The joint educational programs include obtaining a master’s degree in three specialties: business management, animal husbandry, and horticulture. Students spend their first year at the Tashkent State Agrarian University and the second year at the university in China.
