Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- 2 January 2021 marks the 29th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and China.

29 years is just a moment of a thousand-year history of friendly exchanges between the two countries, but during this short period we managed to raise modern interstate relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership and have established mutually beneficial cooperation in almost all areas.

The parties maintain a high level of political mutual trust, consistently promote trade and economic, investment, scientific and technical, transport, agricultural cooperation, intensify cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the two peoples and have achieved quite impressive results in the joint construction of "One Belt, One Road".

The past 2020 was significant for the Chinese-Uzbek relations. Our countries have withstood the severe tests associated with the coronavirus pandemic - they have lent a helping hand to each other in the most difficult moments, together we are minimizing the negative impact of the pandemic on socio-economic development and we are moving multifaceted bilateral cooperation forward.

As the Chinese proverbs say: "friends are known in trouble", "Real gold is not afraid of fire," the tried-and-true Sino-Uzbek relations have once again demonstrated their "golden" quality and will certainly receive even greater development in the post-pandemic period.
