Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 20 February 2025, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology hosted a meeting with a Canadian delegation led by the newly appointed Ambassador of Canada to Uzbekistan, Christopher Duggan.

The event was attended by Minister of Mining Industry and Geology Bobir Islamov, First Deputy Minister Omonullo Nasritdinkhodjayev, as well as heads of relevant departments and other officials.

During the meeting, the parties discussed Uzbekistan’s mining sector reforms, the participation of Uzbek specialists in the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) International Mining Conference, prospects for bilateral cooperation, and the activities of the Uzbekistan-Canada Friendship Society.
