Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 March, Uzbekistan and Belize established diplomatic relations. This was reported by the Dunyo agency.

A Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Belize was signed in New York (USA).

The Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN, Ulugbek Lapasov, and the Permanent Representative of Belize to the UN, Carlos Fuller, signed this document on behalf of their governments.

Both sides expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation within international organizations, including the UN and its specialized agencies.

An agreement was also reached on more active interaction in the search for mutually beneficial areas for bilateral cooperation.

Thus, Belize, located in Central America, became the 147th state with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations.
