Uzbekistan and Belarus to strengthen cooperation in the textile and clothing industries

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Belarus will strengthen cooperation in the textile and clothing industries. The press secretary of the Bellegprom concern Daria Volynets told a BelTA correspondent about this.

Chairman of the Bellegprom concern Tatyana Lugina discussed with the leadership of the Uztekstilprom Association possible areas of cooperation where the textile industries of the two countries can effectively interact. “This is institutional, investment cooperation, industrial cooperation, as well as cooperation in the field of education and advanced training,” the press service noted.

Thus, in the context of institutional cooperation, the parties provide for mutual visits, participation in exhibitions, exchange of best practices, implementation of agreed upon industry development strategies and cooperation roadmaps.

As part of industrial cooperation, it is planned to carry out mutual supplies of cotton yarn, linen, fabrics for the work of Belarusian enterprises, as well as chemical fibers, flax raw materials, mixed finished fabrics for the work of Uzbek enterprises. Projects for sewing finished products on the territory of Uzbekistan according to orders from Belarusian brands will be developed.

A key aspect of cooperation will be the area of education and advanced training. Uzbek specialists, including seamstresses, technologists and designers, will be sent for internships to Belarusian enterprises, and Belarusian technologists will be involved in management work at Uzbek enterprises.
