Uzbekistan and Belarus sign a plan for joint sporting events

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Uzbekistan Leonid Marinich, during a visit to Tashkent of a Belarusian delegation led by Minister of Sports and Tourism Sergei Kovalchuk, took part in a meeting with Minister of Youth Policy and Sports Adkham Ikramov and Advisor to the President Uzbekistan on youth, science, education, health, culture and sports Odil Abdurakhmanov, BELTA reported.

The parties discussed cooperation in the field of sports, outlined promising areas for further cooperation and signed a plan for holding joint sports events in 2023 in the territories of the two countries.

Sergey Kovalchuk also informed in detail about the preparation of the Republic of Belarus for the II Games of the CIS countries, which will be held from 4 to 14 August 2023 in 11 cities, presented the sports infrastructure and facilities where the competitions will take place. It was emphasized that guests will be able to get to know the history, culture and tourism potential of the country better.

The Belarusian delegation held meetings and negotiations at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, visited the multifunctional sports and entertainment complex and the Humo Arena ice palace, the Republican Center for Olympic and Paralympic sports training, and a number of other sports and tourist facilities in Tashkent.
