Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 November, a meeting between the Chairman of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva and the Chairman of the Council of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova took place in Bishkek.

It was noted that thanks to the joint efforts of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Belarus, bilateral relations are developing in an atmosphere of mutual trust and friendship.

Trade and economic cooperation is developing between the countries. In recent years, mutual trade turnover has increased 5 times, exceeding US$500 million.

At the same time, during the dialogue they spoke about the need to increase the activity of our parliaments in the legal support of all agreements reached at the highest level.

During the negotiations, attention was paid to the issues of effective continuation of the interparliamentary dialogue between the two states.

The parties reached an agreement to take cooperation in the field of territorial development, empowerment of women, and strengthening business ties between them to a new level.

It was also noted that every effort must be made to ensure effective parliamentary control over the implementation of high-level agreements between our countries.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed hope for further constructive development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus based on the principles of mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests.
