Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Belarus can achieve trade turnover of US$1 billion. Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojaev told reporters about this on the sidelines of the II Forum of Regions of Uzbekistan and Belarus in Tashkent, BELTA reports.

According to Jamshid Khojaev, Uzbekistan and Belarus are interesting to each other in various areas.

- The current trade turnover, which has increased compared to previous years, demonstrates a close relationship, but US$600 million is not the limit. My colleagues and I have analyzed: we have every opportunity to increase trade turnover to US$1 billion, he said.

This figure can be achieved through the implementation of a number of joint projects in the field of industry and agriculture, which will be launched in 2024–2025.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan noted that the Belarusian side is very strong in livestock and crop production. “My colleagues and I have identified where we can work together. In addition, there are many projects in light industry, where we are also creating joint ventures using technologies and semi-finished products from the Belarusian side,” he said.
