Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Bangladesh signed an agreement on air services. This was stated by the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.
The document was signed by the heads of the aviation authorities of Uzbekistan and Bangladesh within the framework of the international conference ICAN 2023. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) held this conference in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
As part of the event, with the participation of heads and representatives of aviation authorities of ICAO member states and other aviation enterprises, meetings were held on issues of air transport and strengthening interaction in this area.
As part of the signed document, Bangladesh will abolish the payment of royalties for each passenger, each kilogram of luggage and cargo on flights to the country. Bangladesh collected royalties from Uzbekistan airlines.
From 1998 to 2007, Uzbekistan Airways operated regular flights between Tashkent and Dhaka. Air traffic from and to Bangladesh is currently suspended.
As part of participation in the ICAN 2023 conference, the delegation of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan held meetings with representatives of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Canada and a number of other countries.
The parties discussed cooperation in the aviation sector and expanding the number of flights to increase the tourist flow to Uzbekistan.
