Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 September 2024, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, Guseyn Guliyev.

During the meeting, the parties noted the positive dynamics in trade, economic, and investment relations between the two countries, based on close and trusting relationships between the leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

As of the end of 2023, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan increased by 26.5%. There are currently 230 enterprises with Azerbaijani capital operating in Uzbekistan, spanning various sectors including trade, machine engineering, metal processing, finance and insurance, real estate transactions, energy, services, jewelry manufacturing, and food and light industries.

The parties discussed measures to accelerate the implementation of agreements reached during the state visit of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan in August this year. Specifically, discussions covered urban infrastructure development, industrial production, the chemical industry, and IT.

Both sides expressed a unified view on the importance of enhancing business ties between the two countries and developing interregional cooperation. They reaffirmed their commitment to taking necessary measures to support business communities and further strengthen cooperation in priority sectors.
