Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have signed an agreement on the transit of goods, reports TOLONews.
The Afghan Ministry of Industry and Trade has also signed similar agreements with Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
In January-November 2024, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan reached nearly US$1 billion, an increase of US$215.8 million compared to the same period in 2023.
In the first eleven months of 2024, Uzbekistan exported goods worth US$969.4 million to Afghanistan, while Afghan exports to Uzbekistan amounted to US$30.5 million.
Update: The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan has denied reports about signing a transit agreement with Afghanistan.
