Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Afghanistan has extended the contract with Uzbekistan for the reconstruction of the Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway line by six months, reports TOLOnews.
The Afghan side notes that the contract extension will allow Tashkent and Kabul to complete the repair work on the railway line.
The reconstruction of the Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif line began at the end of February this year. The repair work is estimated at US$6.3 million. Initially, it was planned to be completed by the end of spring this year.
