Uzbekistan and Afghanistan discuss trade expansion in Termez
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 1 March, Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held talks with an Afghan delegation led by Minister of Commerce Nooruddin Azizi.
The meeting took place at the Termez International Trade Center in the Surkhandarya region.
The parties discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, outlining specific measures to increase trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan to US$3 billion.
Beyond trade, discussions also covered cooperation in key sectors such as agriculture, textiles, pharmaceuticals, food processing, and mining.
As part of the visit, B2B meetings were held with around 60 entrepreneurs from each side. Business representatives had the opportunity to establish new connections and discuss cooperation details, including joint projects and trade agreements.
