Uzbekistan and AFD discuss current and prospective projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Ilhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, held a meeting with a delegation from the French Development Agency (AFD).

The meeting was attended by Matthew Wasser, Regional Director of the agency for Western Balkans, Turkey, Caucasus, and Central Asia, Vanson Copen, Head of the AFD Representation in Tashkent, and his deputy Antoine Chevalier.

At the beginning of the meeting, Matthew Wasser highlighted the rapid development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and AFD. It was also emphasized that the number of joint projects implemented by the Government of Uzbekistan and the agency is increasing, with their quality improving.

AFD is an important partner for Uzbekistan. During the meeting, current and prospective projects were discussed. The parties explored opportunities for cooperation in railway transport, green economy initiatives, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as public-private partnership projects.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on further development of cooperation and intensification of consultations on planned projects.

The French Development Agency is a state financial institution that contributes to poverty alleviation and sustainable development. It finances and supports projects aimed at improving living conditions, promoting economic growth, and addressing climate change.
