Opera said the top 11 countries using Opera Mini in the CIS were Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan lead the top 11 countries in growth of unique users, the company said.

Nokia and Sony Ericsson are by far the most popular handset brands chosen by Opera Mini users in the CIS.

From September 2008 to September 2009, overall page views in the top 11 countries listed increased 133%. In the reporting period, overall unique users in the top 11 countries listed increased 55%. Overall data transferred in the top 11 countries listed increased 174%, Opera said.

The statement said page-view growth in Uzbekistan from September 2008 to September 2009 made up 905.0% and unique-user growth - 454.5%.

Page-views per user comprised 293 in Uzbekistan. Data (compressed) transferred per user was 5 MB and data (compressed) transferred per page view was 17 Kb.
