Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Airways sold its stake in Central Asia Megastar LLC in the amount of 23.3% of the authorized capital to Uzbekistan Airports.

On 29 July, the companies signed a sale and purchase agreement for 400.34 million soums.

Central Asia Megastar LLC was established in April 1991 and has an authorized capital of 1.71 billion soums. The founders of the company are Premium Globe Investment LLC (51.10%), the state (25.60%) and Uzbekistan Airways (23.3%).

The company owns Duty-Free shops at the airports of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Urgench, as well as duty-free shops at the Termez-Afghanistan border customs post and a Diplomatic Shop in Tashkent for diplomats and persons accredited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In November 2020, a 48.88% stake in the authorized capital of Central Asia Megastar was put up for sale.
