Uzbekistan Airways reconstructs runway of Nukus Airport
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways), a national airline of Uzbekistan, reconstructed runway of Nukus Airport, the press service of the company said.

The company said that the exploitation of new runway started on 20 October as RJ-85 aircraft landed to Nukus airport.

Technical characteristics of new runway meet all international requirements and it is designed for all type of aircrafts. The airline reconstructed platform and parking sites for aircrafts.

The company said that new Nukus airport can receive such aircrafts as A310, A320, B767-300 and B757-200 and all aircrafts of lower class, which should allow Uzbekistan Airways and other airlines to increase number of flights to and from Nukus and increase service quality. Wide-scale reconstruction works of Nukus Airport runway was started on 20 June 2011. During 110 days, new asphalt carpet with 3 km long was laid.
