Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An Uzbekistan Airways aircraft flying from New York to Tashkent was forced to land at St. Petersburg airport due to a violent passenger.

According to the airline’s press service, the incident occurred on 11 December at 07:35 Tashkent time on flight HY102.

The pilot-in-command of the Boeing 787 decided to land at an alternate airfield due to problems reported via radio communication.

After landing, police officers removed a citizen of Uzbekistan, born in 1991, from the flight.

After completing the necessary procedures, the aircraft will resume flight to the destination airport. The estimated time of arrival of flight HY102 to Tashkent is 13:00 local time.
