Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation from Uzbekistan Airways, headed by First Deputy Chairman of the Board Umid Khusanov, took part in a panel discussion at the Asia Connect: Aviation Strategy conference held on 13 June in Tashkent.

Umid Khusanov noted the importance of the region in the current realities, and raised issues related to the growth rate of the GDP of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The successful and speedy exit of the airline from the pandemic was noted. Thus, in 2022, Uzbekistan Airways showed significant growth in all target indicators and transported over 4.8 million passengers, breaking its own unofficial record of 2019.

During the discussion, attention was paid to the development of the airline’s air fleet, which entails an increase in the passenger turnover of Uzbekistan Airways, which, in turn, will significantly increase the transfer potential. So, by 2027, the airline expects about 30% -35% of transfer passenger traffic.
