Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Airways successfully conducted the first test flight from Sariasia (Surkhandarya region) to Tashkent.

The flight passengers were members of a working group including specialists from the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Agency, Uzbekistan Airways JSC and Uzbekistan Airports JSC.

Experts have carefully studied the requirements for the use of Sariasia airfield for civil aviation.

After completing certain tasks, the tourism committee and the administration of Surkhandarya region plan to begin air transportation for tourists and local residents on various types of aircraft, including ATR-72, Let L-410 and smaller models.
