Uzbekistan Airways carries out 24,108 flights in 2009
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways), national airline of Uzbekistan, carried out 24,108 flights in 2009, including 10,688 flights in internal market.
The airline transported 1.885 million passengers in the reporting period, including 430,000 were transported in internal flights.
The cargo transportation in internal market rose by 8% to 352 tonnes and the volume of correspondence transportation grew by 22% to 1,000 tonnes.
The airline also increased international freight transportation by 35.8% year-on-year in 2009.
Revenues of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari fell from 1.206 trillion soums in 2008 to 1.17 trillion soums in 2009.
The airline said the decrease of revenue is connected with support of fleet, improvement of quality and safety of the services, modernization of infrastructure and personnel development.
