Uzbekistan Airports and AirAsia X discuss launching regular flights between Kuala Lumpur and Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan Airports has held negotiations with Malaysian airline AirAsia X regarding the launch of regular flights between Kuala Lumpur and Tashkent.
During the meeting, the organization of air services was discussed in detail, continuing talks that initially began in 2024 at the Routes Asia aviation forum.
The carrier plans to commence flights to Uzbekistan starting in October of this year, with a frequency of three flights per week, utilizing Airbus 320/321 aircraft. Additionally, the possibility of organizing connecting flights through Tashkent to other countries is being considered.
It is important to note that AirAsia X received authorization for regular flights to Uzbekistan in February of this year.
AirAsia is Asia’s largest low-cost airline, operating both domestic and international flights across more than 400 routes in 25 countries. The airline’s main hub is Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
