Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the "Roadmap" for the development of trade-economic, transport-logistics, and cultural-humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, the holding of meetings of the Joint Commission between the two countries was outlined.
In this regard, today, the second meeting of the Joint Commission of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, as well as its subcommittees, took place.
The meeting was attended by Acting Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jamshid Abduzukhurov.
The meeting, held in a video conference format, focused on discussing the established agricultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
In particular, the achievements in the cultivation of saffron, cotton, and cereals, as well as in livestock, were reviewed within the framework of the agreements reached. Additionally, the issues of organizing intensive orchards in Afghanistan and prospects for cooperation in the fishing industry were discussed.
Furthermore, opinions and proposals were heard on training Afghan farmers and agricultural workers in Uzbekistan, as well as current measures being taken in this area.
The conversation also addressed the use of mobile laboratories for soil analysis in Afghan agriculture, as well as the organization of a training system in this field.
