Uzbekistan adopts programme to preserve cultural heritage of Bukhara city
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan adopted a state programme on research, conservation, restoration and adaptation for modern use of objects of cultural heritage of Bukhara city till 2020.

The document was adopted to implement Law “On protection and use of cultural heritage objects” and to ensure careful preservation and organization of modern use of cultural heritage objects in historic part of Bukhara city, assist to carrying out scientific-cultural research and others.

The state programme includes measures on conducting scientific research of cultural heritage of Bukhara city, carrying out conservation, restoration, accomplishment and modern use of ancient and medieval architectural, archeological objects in historic part of Bukhara city.

It also stipulates expanding cultural infrastructure, boosting work on propaganda and popularization of historic-cultural values.

The state programme will be financed in equal parts due to funds of the state budget, additional income of local budget of Bukhara region, including sponsorship funds.

The government resolution said about 3.18 billion soums, including 1.495 billion soums of the state budget resources, were directed to conducting necessary works on research, conservation, restoration and adaptation for modern use of Bukhara city’ cultural heritage objects.
