Uzbekistan adopts programme on ICT development for 2012-2014
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On measures on further introduction and development of modern information-communication technologies” on 21 March 2012.

The UzACI said that the document was adopted to improve efficiency of activities of state and economic bodies, state bodies in places, wide use of modern information-communication technologies (ICT) in state and public construction.

The resolution determines main tasks of introduction and developing ICT in Uzbekistan for 2012-2014. In particular, it is planned to form national information system with stage-by-stage integration of information systems of the state bodies, legal systems and individuals.

The programme envisages creation of information system on automated activity of the state bodies, which raise their efficiency and quality of their works, expand quality of interactive state services, improve regulation of ICT sector, ensure security of information area, etc.

The resolution approve a programme of further introduction and development of ICT in Uzbekistan for 2012-2014 and the list of information systems of the state bodies and business entities, state bodies in places, integrated to National information system for 2012-2014.

In line with the resolution, the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information entrusted to determine and implement single technical policy for formation of National information system.

Center for development and introduction of computer and information technologies Uzinfocom of the UzACI is responsible for creating, developing and ensuring security of information security of integrated information systems for operative information exchange of the President’s Office and the Cabinet of Ministers, and their interaction with information systems of the state bodies.

From 1 August 2012, the UzACi will have to allow to introduction of newly developed specialized software at the state bodies. Heads of the state bodies will be responsible for installation of unpermitted software.
