Uzbekistan adopts programme on developing football
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov approved a programme on strengthening material-technical base and development of football for 2011-2013 on 19 January 2011.

The document was adopted for further strengthening and developing material base of football, ensuring high quality of educational-training process at boarding schools, children-youth schools, professional clubs and national teams, improving skills of players, coaches and referees, as well as promoting and popularizing football among population.

Within the programme, Uzbekistan plans to reconstruct stadiums and sport facilities of football schools. In particular, it is planned to reconstruct Dynamo stadium in Samarkand, Markaziy stadium in Namangan, Bukhara stadium in Bukhara and Ferghana stadium in Ferghana.

According to the document, Locomotive and Bunyodkor stadiums will be commissioned in September 2011, while two more stadiums will be constructed in Bekabad and Almalyk by March 2013.

The programme also envisages measures on improving information supply and propaganda of football, including re-training of journalists and technical personnel for broadcasting football matches.

In particular, journalism faculties of Uzbekistan National University and Uzbek State University of World Languages were entrusted to create special courses on re-training sport journalists. It is planned to organize system on training directors and cameramen at Tashkent University of Information Technologies.

Football clubs of Premier League of Uzbekistan were ordered to create special premises for radio and TV commentators, equipped with modern equipment, as well as conditions for broadcasting of football matches via TV and Internet. Later, representatives of other leagues will also have to create similar conditions at their stadiums.

It is also planned to carry out measures on supporting sport internet journalists and stimulating financially existing and new websites dedicated to football.
