Uzbekistan adopts measures to develop football

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Presidential resolution defines additional measures for the comprehensive development of mass and professional football.

In order to further popularize football, select promising and talented football players and create a new system for their training, additional areas for the promotion and development of football have been identified:

annual holding of festivals and competitions "Mass Football" (Grassroots) among the youth of mahallas, among students of secondary schools - the republican competition "Football in Schools", among students of higher educational institutions - the republican competition "Student League";

development of football among women, development and implementation of long-term plans and programs in this direction;

creation of necessary conditions for playing football by persons with limited physical abilities and disabilities;

creation of a high-quality sports reserve for national teams and professional football clubs, introduction of a digital system for identifying, selecting talented football players.

Annually, at the expense of the Uzbekistan Football Association, the following events are held:

in March - June - football festivals among the youth of mahallas, including among girls, within the framework of the "Mass Football" program;

on 10 December - mass "flash mobs" among the population in connection with World Football Day;

in September - May - football competitions, master classes and festivals in secondary schools as part of the Football in Schools program and others.

In order to create a high-quality sports reserve for regional and national football teams and professional football clubs, football skill schools from the system of the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports are transferred to the jurisdiction of the Football Association of Uzbekistan.

Until 1 April 2026, the Uzbekistan Football Association, the Professional Football League of Uzbekistan, the Center for Football Referees of Uzbekistan, professional football clubs and academies are exempt from paying customs duties on imported sports equipment and technologies, inventory not produced in Uzbekistan.

The Football Support Fund of Uzbekistan was established. Sources of the formation of its funds:

funds allocated from the State budget;

sponsorship funds of Uzmetkombinat, Almalyk GMK, Navoi GMK and Uzbekneftegaz;

charitable donations of individuals and legal entities, including non-residents of Uzbekistan;

income from the placement of temporarily free funds of the Fund on deposits of commercial banks;

grants and technical assistance funds from international financial organizations and foreign countries;

other sources not prohibited by legislative acts.

The document approved:

Address list of reconstruction and overhaul of sports and educational institutions and facilities under the jurisdiction of the Football Association of Uzbekistan;

List of football schools under the Football Association of Uzbekistan;

List of football schools affiliated with professional football clubs to be optimized.
