Uzbekistan adopts measures on updating old equipment
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan approved measures on rapid update of morally and physically old equipment of industrial enterprises for 2012-2014 and following years.

The governmental resolution said that technical audit was conducted at 418 large industrial enterprises of Uzbekistan in 2011 and some 1.691 million units of equipment were inspected. In the result, it was revealed that 30% of equipment should be updated or written off.

In particular, about 18,097 units from total 36,924 equipment of Uzbekenergo were usable, while 18,827 units should be updated or written off. Uzmetkombinat uses 857 equipments from 905 units and 48 equipments should be updated. Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) needs to update 95 equipments from 350 units.

According to the presidential resolution, Uzbekistan plans to update 16,678 units of equipment with estimated cost of US$1.127 billion in 2012-2014 and following years.

The document said that the complex on geology, fuel-energy, chemical, petrochemical and metallurgy industries will update 10,937 units of equipment with the estimated cost of US$925.588 million.

The complex on issues of developing machinery, electrotechnical and aviation industry, standardization of products should update 992 units of equipment with estimated cost of US$66.297 million.

The complex on issues of communal sphere, transport, capital construction and construction industry will replace 614 units of equipment with the cost of US$35.45 million.

Over 4,000 units of equipment with estimated cost of US$86.061 million will updated in the complex on issues of agriculture and water management, processing agriculture equipment and consumer goods.

The complex on issues of education, healthcare, social protection, information systems and telecommunications will modernize 130 units of equipment with estimated cost of US$13.184 million.

The Government recommended to commercial banks to issue long-term loans to the industrial enterprises to purchase new technologic equipment to replace old ones.
