Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Ministry of Finance with the Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank, Inchang Song, who is on an official working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Minister Odilbek Isakov noted that ADB is a reliable partner of Uzbekistan in the implementation of major development programs and major infrastructure projects.

During the period of bilateral cooperation, ADB supported the implementation of 62 projects with funding in the amount of US$7.5 billion. These projects cover such sectors as healthcare, education, water resources management and irrigation, agriculture, water supply and sanitation, financial sector, energy and others. As of 1 October 2019, 35 projects were completed for a total of US$2.57 billion. 27 projects are currently under implementation for a total amount of US$4.93 billion, including those signed in the current year - 3 projects worth US$472 million.

Partnership Strategy and the Country Operations Business Plan for 2019-2021 were also separately noted, which provides for the joint implementation of 27 projects in the amount of ADB financing in the amount of US$3.79 billion.

In conclusion, the ADB Executive Director expressed his readiness to further expand cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan, contributing to the development of the region as a whole.
