Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekinvest collected insurance premiums worth 112 billion soums in the first half of 2018, which is 3 times more than the same period of 2017.

The amount of liabilities assumed under the concluded insurance contracts made up 69 trillion soums, which is equivalent to US$8.9 billion.

The volume of current insurance liabilities reinsured in first-class foreign insurance companies for projects implemented in Uzbekistan by foreign investors and contractors from the Russian Federation, Japan, Korea, USA, Switzerland and other countries within the framework of the State Development Programs of the Republic of Uzbekistan is US$21.7 billion with a validity period obligations until 2024.

In 2018, one of the priority areas of Uzbekinvest’s insurance activity is the cardinal improvement of work with individuals and the active involvement of the urban and rural population in the system of voluntary and compulsory insurance. According to the results of the active in this segment, insurance premiums were collected in the amount of 12.6 billion soums, which grew by 2.6 times compared to the same period of last year.

Regional branches collected the insurance premiums for 34.3 billion soums, which is 46% more than the same period of 2017, the collection of insurance premiums for insurance departments (district) reached 16.4 billion soums, with a growth of 93%.

The company made insurance payments to the population and legal entities on insured cases for 11.5 billion soums (growth of 32%).

According to the results of the first half of this year, the investment portfolio of the company increased by 92% compared to the same period in 2017 and reached 710.9 billion soums, of which 255 billion soums were placed in commercial banks in the form of deposit funds, 439 billion soums were invested in shares of large organizations.
