Uzbekenergotamir is implementing projects for the construction of photovoltaic stations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekenergotamir is working to introduce renewable energy sources at thermal power plants and central centers. At the moment, the capacity of solar panels installed by the company at the stations is 9.6 MW. After the completion of the ongoing projects, the total capacity of photovoltaic stations in the system will reach 15 MW.

It is known that today the introduction of energy-saving technologies and renewable energy sources, in a word, increasing energy efficiency, is one of the priority areas of government policy. Accordingly, systematic work is being carried out in our country to expand reforms aimed at the transition to a “green” economy.

In this direction, the scope of work of Uzbekenergotamir, aimed at introducing energy-saving technologies and developing renewable energy sources, has significantly expanded.

In particular, in order to ensure the implementation of Presidential Decree No. PP-4422 “On accelerated measures to improve the energy efficiency of economic and social sectors, the introduction of energy-saving technologies and the development of renewable energy sources,” the capacity of solar photovoltaic stations was increased to 9.6 MW. These days, work is underway to increase the total capacity of solar photovoltaic power plants to 15 MW by commissioning another 5.4 MW.

In particular, the construction of solar photovoltaic stations at the Turakurgan Thermal Power Plant with a capacity of 3.5 MW, at the Syrdarya Thermal Power Station with a capacity of 520 kW, at the Fergana Thermal Power Station with 1 MW, at the Talimarjan Thermal Power Station JSC with a capacity of 790 kW and at the Angren Thermal Power Station JSC with a capacity of 100 kW is being completed. As a result of the full commissioning of solar panels, an additional 27.0 million kWh of electricity will be generated and savings of 5.0 million cubic meters of natural gas per year will be achieved.
