Uzbekenergo to implement projects for US$5.273bn in 2011-2015
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekenergo state joint stock company is planning to realize 44 investment projects for total sum of US$5.273 billion in 2011-2015.

This was announced a roundtable titled “Legal and scientific-practical issues of using rehabilitated sources of energy”. The conference was organized by fraction of social-democratic party Adolat at Legislative Chamber in partnership Uzbekenergo state joint stock company and Tashkent State Technical University.

Besides, it is planned to modernize 12 existing hydro power stations and increase their capacities by 55.8 megawatt and construct pilot wind energy facility with the capacity of 750 kilowatt in Charvaq water reservoir.

Uzbekenergo is also installing solar power stations at ten rural medical points in Khorezm regions. The stations allow them to produce electricity and heating energy. Currently, construction of four stations was completed and is continuing at other stations. Similar stations will be installed at children houses in Ferghana and Namangan, as well as Andijan.

The company decided to create scientific-educational laboratory at Energy Department of Tashkent State Technical University to train specialists on renewable energy and energy saving.

Two solar energy station modules and two wind power stations were installed at the Department and modern laboratory class was created. The company also gifted computer classes and furniture to the Energy Department. The Department also now has laboratory on automated system of controlling and accounting electricity. Similar laboratories will be created in all regions of Uzbekistan.

Adolat party initiated development of draft law on use of renewable energy sources, while Institute of energy and automation of the Uzbekistan Science Academy developed Conceptual regulation and direction on use of renewable energy in Uzbekistan for long-term perspective.

During the event, the presentation of modern lab on renewable energy and automated controlling and accounting of electricity was held. The participants developed recommendations on further improving work in this direction.
