Uzbekenergo supplies 20.8 billion K.W.H. of electricity to consumers in 1H
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Enterprises of Uzbekenergo (Uzbek Energy) state joint stock company supplied 20.8 billion K.W.H. of electricity to consumers in the first half of 2011.

The company’s press service said that it supplied 4.2 million Gcal of heating energy in the reporting period.

Enterprises of Uzbekenergo continued to introduce modern electronic electricity meters. In the reporting period, some 261,500 monophase electricity meters were installed in domestic sector, of which 49,900 are based on 1C-prepayment cards.

The company adopted measures on implementation of investment projects on construction of new ones, modernization and reconstruction of existing energy objects.

The company added that automatic control systems of accounting electricity have been launched at Tashkent thermal power station, Angren thermal power station, Mubarek thermal power central, Ferghana thermal power central, Takiatash thermal power station and Talimardjan thermal power station. It added that assembly and setting up of similar system at Chirchiq hydro power station, Kadiriy hydro power station, Tashkent hydro power station and others.

Uzbekenergo said that fundament works, assembly of metal construction at production buildings of gas turbines and steam turbine have been carried out within the project on construction of stream-gas facility at Navoi thermal power station.

The works on construction of water preparation system, transformer, utilizing boiler were completed. The company added that some 274.2 billion soums were used within the project. General contractor is consortium of Initek Energy (Spain) and Calik Energy (Turkey).

Uzbekistan’s Talimarjan Transmission Project, implemented within cooperation of the World Bank, is realized with rapid tempo. Some 17.9 billion soums were used within the project in the first six months at forecast of 2.1 billion soums.

Uzbekenergo said that its enterprises created over 583 new jobs in the first half of 2011, of which 227 were outworks (at forecast of 144).
