Uzbekenergo supplies 10.bn kw. electricity to local consumers
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekenergo state joint stock company supplied 10.5 billion kilowatt per hour electricity to consumers in Uzbekistan in the first quarter of 2010.

The company said it fully fulfilled production forecast in the first quarter of 2010. The production of goods in the industry made up 101.4% in the reporting period.

In the first quarter 2010, the forecast on exports of goods and services was executed by 102%. Uzbekenergo exported electricity to neighboring states and carried out construction-assembly works. Production of localized products from local resources was fulfilled by 128.4%.

The company also designed and constructed electricity lines to supply electricity to newly constructed houses in rural areas of Uzbekistan. It constructed high-voltage transmission line with length of 41.4 km with 43 sets of transforming station. Overall, 1.99 billion soums of capital investments were used.

Uzbekenergo is introducing automated system on control over and accounting of electricity in Uzbekistan (1 phase). The company spent 1.2 billion soums to implement this project. In the first quarter, about 185,500 electricity meters were installed in line with the project in first three months of 2010.
