In line with the announcement of the company, interested sides should submit their tender proposals till 20 December 2010.

Within the tender, the company plans to purchase four sets of monophase autotransformer 167 MVA/500/220 kW and nine sets of shunt reactors.

The tender terms said that participants should have experience in designing, production, testing and supply of corresponding equipment within last five years. The equipments should be successfully working at least for two years.

Equipment will be used for construction of substation 500/220 kilowatt at Talimarjan station and new 500 kilowatt power line with extension of 218 kilometers from new substation to Sogdiana substation in Samarkand region, as well as unite them with Karakul and Guzar substations.

Uzbekistan was planning to implement project on modernization of Talimarjan thermal power station in 2010-2018. The cost of the project is US$1.28 billion. Uzbekistan planned to attract loans of foreign financial institutions for US$800 million to implement project.

In April 2010, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) issued US$350 million to project implementation, while Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) allocated US$300 million in May.

In the same month, the World Bank and the Government of Uzbekistan signed memorandum of understanding, which envisages allocation of US$140 million loan to the project.

First power block of Talimarjan thermal power station was commissioned in December 2004. The designed capacity of the block is 800 megawatt. The construction cost was US$400 million.
