After the ceremony, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov started negotiations in face-to-face format.

The sides will discuss wide scale issues of the Uzbek-Turkmen relations, regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Turkmen President Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov started official visit to Uzbekistan on 24 February. On the same day, Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov and Islam Karimov participated the concert of Uzbek and Turkmen culture workers.
