Uzbek President Islam Karimov arrived in Ashgabat on Sunday with official visit on invitation of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov.

Leaders of two states said that on the result of talks, the sides signed a protocol on introduction of changes and amendments to intergovernmental agreement on mutual visits of citizens, which was inked in 2004.

Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan also signed a joint statement of president, intergovernmental agreements on Turkmen-Uzbek commission on trade-economic, scientific and cultural cooperation and programme on cooperation of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan for 2010-2011.
