The Manufactured Import and Investment Promotion Organization (MIPRO) of Japan and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan along with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan to Japan organized the event, Jahon information agency reported.
The One Village One Product Programme is a unique mechanism to support the business people and manufacturers of goods in developing countries by way of stimulating the creative potential in manufacturing various products and services.
This programme established in 2005 is being successfully implemented by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, JETRO and MIPRO to render an immediate assistance to manufacturers in developing countries to reach the outer markets.
This year within the framework of this very Program, the trade and industrial exposition of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Japan. The exposition showcased the products of textile, food, fruit and vegetable and vine industry, as well as the goods of applied arts.
During the exposition the representatives of the Japanese business people have been fully informed about the economic and industrial potential of Uzbekistan, the ongoing large-scale reforms in various sectors of economy, modernization and improvement of industrial production process.
"I am sure that this exposition will open up the new ways to expand and deepen the mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation between Japan and Uzbekistan," the MIPRO president Shuji Miyazaki said.
