Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Acting Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development Abdulaziz Akkulov met with the Vice-Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, member of the House of Representatives Sasaki Hajime, in Tokyo.
At the meeting, the parties exchanged experience on activities of tourist information centers in Japan work and the mechanism for introducing tourist fees in the country.
In turn, the Japanese side expressed interest in signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two countries in tourism.
A number of other issues related to development of interstate tourism cooperation were also discussed.
It should be noted that the number of tourists from Japan to Uzbekistan in January-November 2019 amounted to 24,050 people. This is 145.9% more than for the same period last year (16,487 in January-November 2018).
